The founding idea of my work is to search for the essence of the different constituents of our environment and to represent, through digital paintings, a world in which all the components converge harmoniously towards a common history.
In order to progress in this direction, the first reflection that can be made is that human beings, whatever their differences, think and act in a fairly similar way. The fruit of their actions, thoughts and feelings is the result of their experience, their value system, their mood, their sensitivity, their intelligence, their chance... Their creations nourish and inspire others, like a perpetual chain that governs humanity. And this same chain, this same energy exists beyond the human being. Man is inspired by human creations, but he also draws his inspiration from the beauty of nature, animals or masterpieces created by man. And this same idea of close links between the different components of the earth is applicable to a lion living in symbiosis with the African savannah, a swarm of bees in a city, a dolphin in an ocean or a chimpanzee in the Amazonian forest, all of which evolve in a balanced ecosystem of several thousand species. And what about the planets, stars and galaxies that are also part of the timeless ballet of the universe. My work consists in assembling in paintings these different components that surround us in order to reveal a convergence, a harmony and a common energy. The human, vegetable, animal and mineral kingdoms are thus united in a perpetually unstable dynamic balance that symbolizes a common destiny. We are part of this global balance and we contribute to it through our actions, thoughts and works. |
Our value system leads us to believe that what we do is unique and that there is a fundamental difference between what humans do and the rest of the galaxy. It is this same value system that has always created human groups that oppose other groups because their values are different, even though most of these values come from a context that they have inherited.
Our values are the result of our education, culture, religion, origins, etc. These values enrich us, but at the same time limit us because they constantly guide our vision of the world like a filter that only keeps certain frequencies of a wonderful symphony. So I try to get rid of them for the time of a creation to let my fantasy and imagination speak for itself. In this quest, I am no longer really me, but another me. (Hence the idea of the signatures "another me").
