Symbols (signs, words, letters, numbers, figures ...) have been part of human daily life since the dawn of time.
Symbols exist in all civilizations and have existed in all eras.
They are carriers of meaning, information, knowledge, and sometimes convey a message or a thought.
They can be religious, cabalistic, practical, necessary, identity-related, futile ..., they can concentrate energy, a history, bring people together, divide them ...
What interests me about the symbol is this universal aspect - at least for man - and this ability to concentrate in an often simple representation complex concepts.
They are also a sign of the transmission of knowledge between generations. It is difficult, for example, to imagine science or mathematics without symbols or a religion without symbolic signs.
The idea, in my search for universally used signs, is to express this need that human beings have always had to use symbols to transmit, enrich and build.
Of course, the same symbol can carry positive, negative or neutral values depending on the person observing it.
The paintings in this series represent a fusion of symbols, eras, geographies and various meanings.
These symbols are united in a common space and merged with works of art, objects, etc...
